Fun with William Shakespeare's Macbeth

Class Description:
Using improvisation and theatre games, students will be introduced to the basics of understanding and performing a scene from William Shakespeare's Macbeth.

The purpose of the class:
To take the fear out of Shakespeare!

a) Encourage imagination and teamwork using improvisation to work out the characters, events and conflicts of the play.

b) Encourage physical movement to express the motivation of the characters and action of the play.

c) Develop leadership skills by encouraging participation in decision making on the direction, set design and costuming of the scenes.

d) Taking the fear out of Shakespeare by making friends with the language of the world's greatest playwright.

Participants in the Why Shakespeare? class will perform an introductory scene from William Shakespeare's Macbeth as part of the pre-show entertainment prior to Shakespeare In the Parking Lot's
Macbeth: When the Hurley Burley's Done performance at Summit Arena, Fort Lewis, WA
2pm Saturday, October 27th.
